| Concept | 【作者コメント】生物のＤＮＡも人工の物質も自然界をエネルギーとして成し、必要とされないモノは退化し、災いは防御形態・構造等の機構を持つ。 この彫刻は、風をエネルギーと考えず風を受け止める形態、軽やかさも持たない。モノと重力の均衡を極限まで計る事により生まれる新しい風のいや、その｢気配｣の動きです。 [Creator’s Comment] Both the DNA of living things and artificial things rely on the nature as their source of energy. Unnecessary things regress, while disasters equip themselves with defensive mechanisms and structures. This sculpture, devoid of airiness, accepts wind without utilizing the wind as its source of energy. Its motion represents the new wind – or rather, the “hint” of the wind – created through a thorough calculation of the balance between things and gravity. - - - - - 湖畔にたたずむ、風で動く彫刻。回転軸が水平と斜め45度の2ヵ所に設定されているため、垂直に立った円柱は水平にまで、傾いてダイナミックに動く。併せて角度や向きが変わる度に、太陽光の反射も変化していく。風だけでなく、刻々と変化する太陽や雲の動きにも気づかせてくれる作品である。風で動く彫刻の制作では、バランスの取り方と強度との兼ね合いが難しい。特に、動く部分を大きくするために、重心を低くしたこの作品ではなおさらである。制作段階での力学的な多数の計算を経て、空を優雅に舞う彫刻が現れる。 |
