| Concept | 【作者コメント】この作品は、テーマである「煌（きらめく）」より「美しく輝く天体」をイメージしたことから始まった。 太陽や月など天球上に見られる形状やその陰影・運動や光度などの物理的事象をモチーフに、天球を秩序ある統一体として捉え、「宇宙の時空」の表象として造形的な編成（フォーメイション）を試みたものである。 ---- 回転運動を暗示する球形。それを横に広がるように分割・再構成する。作品の曲面には歪曲した景観が映り込み、〈彫刻-彫刻に取り込まれた景観-景観〉という相互に影響し合う関係が生じている。素材のステンレスは、周囲を映す鏡面と金属の質感を見せるヘア・ライン加工の、対称的な表面に仕上げられる。この2つの表面に加え、運動と静止、平面と曲面、安定感と不安定感といった幾つかの対比的な要素が止揚され、全体として1つの秩序ある形態をつくりだされる。この作品が出品された第17回現代日本彫刻展のテーマは『煌（きらめく）』。作者は、そこから光り輝く天体をイメージし、「太陽や月などの形、光、また、その出没の状態などをモチーフとして構想を進めた」と言う。球形をべースとする作品。作品が置かれる円形の緑地。そして、隣接する円筒形の建物（生活安全ふれあい館）。類似する3者の形態が運想の中で繋がり、また彫刻表面で〈映す-映される〉関係を持つことで、作品イメージが景観へ浸透し、調和のある空間が生まれる。 A spherical shape that implies rotation is divided and then reconstructed, spreading horizontally. The curved surfaces of the work reflect distorted landscape to establish an interaction among the <the sculpture – reflected and incorporated landscape - landscape>. The mirror-like finish to reflect the landscape and hairline finish to emphasize the metallic texture are used to represent a contrast on the surface of the stainless steel. In addition to the contrast in texture, several contradistinctive elements like movement and stillness, flat and curve, and stability and instability are applied dynamically to create a single, orderly form as a whole. At the 17th Contemporary Japanese Sculpture Exhibition, entries were invited under the theme of “glitter”. The sculptor imagined a glittering celestial body and “expanded motifs like the shapes and lights of the sun and moon, how they emerge and disappear, and so on.” Sphere forms the basis of the work, as it imagines connections between the work and the circular green space, where the work is placed, and the cylindrical building standing nearby (Life & Safety Communication Center). Together with the connection created by the <reflecting and being reflected> relationship of the sculpture and the landscape, the imagery of the artwork permeates the landscape and creates a harmonious space. |
