At first sight, the cleansed and majestic appearance of the thoroughly polished black granite astonishes us. The first impact is soon replaced by the wonder at the technique which enabled the stone to be split in such a way. While it is immediately recognizable that a single slab is split vertically to be made into three parts, there is no trace of chisel work between each piece, which matches perfectly with each other without leaving a gap. What is more, the central piece stands erect, while both sides are wavy and occasionally showing untreated white cracks. The masterpiece showcases the beauty of the material as it is while tactfully hiding the techniques applied on it.
