People with disabilities living in this city routinely clean Tokiwa Park, the venue of the sculpture exhibition. According to the sculptor, the first people who greeted him with a “congratulations!” to his Grand Prix in 1983 was the three people depicted in the piece. Mr. Iwaki started his career as a mason specialized in stone statues. The word of congratulation profoundly moved the sculptor, who carved the small statue in praise of them and dedicated it to the park as “Three Wonder Children”. It now sits near the round route of Tokiwa Park Fountain Pond.
