"Without washing machine" is a very good title. It may not ring a bell for young people, but in the old days, housewives washing next to the well or waterside used to look like this. The ability to curve out such a form of a stone is probably due to the extraordinary strength of the sculptor’s drawing skill. He has a famous work called "Seven Prayer" (collected by the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo) at the same time, but by combining simple and soft abstract forms, he is really good to bringing out a specific sense of life and customs.
